The Duo Soli is a collaboration of two highly trained and awarded classical musicians who pride themselves on versatility and a great attention to detail. They have performed everywhere from the Knoxville Guitar Society and Carnegie Hall to living rooms and storefronts, and use all of their unique experience to uplift and enrich every event.
Sojourner McClure is a dynamic and expressive classical guitarist known for his distinctive touch and nuanced musicality. McClure brings a deep sensitivity to his performances that resonates with audiences across genres. While McClure’s foundation is rooted in classical guitar, he prides himself as being a highly adaptable performer as his artistic range extends to jazz, fingerstyle, and country guitar traditions.
He holds both a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music in Classical Guitar Performance from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, where he studied under the guidance of Julian Gray, Chair of the Guitar Department, as well as esteemed professor of guitar, Ray Chester.
McClure made his professional debut with the Knoxville Guitar Society and has since performed in solo recitals throughout the US. He has participated in masterclasses with acclaimed artists including Jason Vieaux, Thomas Viloteau, Allan Neave, John Knowles, Tommy Emmanuel, and many others.
Lisa McNulty is a thoughtful, detailed, and emotional performer that also has wide-reaching experience across multiple genres. After studying classical music and opera earning her Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance at the Peabody Institute under the tutelage of iconic operatic performer Denyce Graves and renowned pedagog Margaret Baroody, she founded her own contemporary vocal band and business. Ember Vocals performed across the country at a variety of concerts, events, and educational seminars about vocal music, and even competed in Varsity Vocal’s ICA Open Competition, reaching the final round at Carnegie Hall alongside the best a cappella groups in the country. She has been awarded for her songwriting and arranging skills from competitions such as Harmony Sweepstakes, where Ember also received first prize.
She went on to receive her Masters of Arts in Music Business from Berklee College of Music, before moving to Los Angeles to work as a recording artist and performer.
